      Thunderous training and the dog called Faith (:     

i dont know why but i really ♥ the training yesterday (:
thanks a lot my bud bud, Harlis (aka Muska/Thunder)!
It was refreshing actually.

The stretching was THE BEST.
Thanks Iida for teaching us new ways to stretch, it was painful but
i know it will be effective (after seeing how flexible you are, the stretching sure is gonna be of some use)

Here is an email sent by my good friend and i think it is very meaningful to share(:
here it is:


This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with 2 legs -
He of course could not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him.

His first owner also did not think that he could survive and he was thinking of 'putting him to sleep'.
But then, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him.
She became determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by himself..
She named him 'Faith'.

In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfboard to let him feel the movement.
Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for him for standing up and jumping around.
Even the other dog at home encouraged him to walk.
Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle,
Faith learned to balance on his hind legs and to jump to move forward.
After further training in the snow, he could now walk like a human being.

Faith loves to walk around now.
No matter where he goes, he attracts people to him.
He is fast becoming famous on the international scene and
has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows.
There is now a book entitled 'With a Little Faith' being published about him.
He was even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter movies.

His present owner Jude Stringfellew has given up her teaching post and plans to take him around the world
to preach that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect soul'.


































In life there are always undesirable things, so in order to feel better you just need to look at life from another direction.
I hope this message will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone
and that everyone will appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful day.
Faith is the continual demonstration of the strength and wonder of life.

I felt really touched by the never give up spirit of Faith and the owner Jude. If a dog can walk on 2 feets for long, what else is impossible? As long as we perserve, mind over body, we can do the things that are presume as IMPOSSIBLE. Why are there things that are considered impossible? It is because people don't believe that they can achieve. Great things are accomplished by talented people who believe they can. Belief on its own can be very strong, never doubt it! Jia you everyone!

      Denvers' GYMNATICS day     

Hello everyone.
It is ASHLEY KOH here.
Bringing to you, the hot and piping insights of Denvers Training yesterday.
Or would I rather say Gymnatics Day.

10 of the Denverites were selected to go for their Gym classes yesterday.
So the team met up to go the RI for their Gym classes.
We met the coach and went through that little ice breaker session.

The 10 stayed on for their lessons,
while the rest (Me, Harlis [Thunder], Siti, Olivia, Victor, Teck Pin, Mathew) went to Bishan Swimming Complex.

Well .. I don't know what happened at RI so I shall just elaborate on what happened at Bishan Swimming Complex!
It was tremedous fun! WOOHOO!
We had 2 competition, namely the aqua-thon and "WHO CAN HOLD THEIR BREATHE LONGER"!
The 2 group of participants were Team Singapore (Harlis, Teck Pin, Mathew) and Team Denvers (Siti and Me).
Video will be posted by Saturday after I get them from Mathew. So pls hold your excitement till further notice :x
In the mean time, you can guess who WON the overall champion!

After the competition, Teck Pin left us to meet our other halves who completed their training.
Mathew, Harlis and I decided to do some gym stuff ourselves (Photos below). We did handstands, front tuck, "twist back tuck" in the pool. Stay tuned for the videos! :D

Finishing off the day with the team meet-up at Bishan J8 for dinner and debrief. That is all. I shall comment more when the videos are up! You will then be able to see the "violent side of me", the crazy competitions and the cheater bugs we have! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. STAY TUNED PEOPLE! :D

      Team Denvers Cheer Camp 2009     

Hello everyone. This is Ashley here! Bringing to you the insights of our Denvers Cheer Camp 2009. Denvers Cheer Camp was held on 16 October 2009 and ended on 18 October 2009. Those who had to turn up for the camp were mainly the final 16s. Other Denverites were invited to attend this Camp as well. Aim of the camp is to prepare for Nationals and for team bonding.

16 October 2009 (Friday; 7pm)

The final 16 reported for the Camp on Friday, 7pm. Our dearest Captain, Yeo Teck Pin planned out what we were going to do on this beloved Friday. We started out with the category, Dance. Our Dance Choreographer, Mr Hakim and our beautiful coach, Elizabeth (aka BB) lead us with the Dance.

I believed that everyone had fun. Everyone managed to pick up the dance rather quickly I would say. Good job team :D

After having fun learning our Dance, we moved on to the next category, that is JUMPS and TUMBLINGS. It was led by Mr Hakim. It was the last category of the day and there were a handful that had some excess energy to try on other stuff.

Guess what did they try out? Yes .. correct .. Partner stunts! HAHAHAHAHA .. Pardon for the "talking to myself" symptoms. Ok .. Some tried partner stunts while others took their turn to go to the one and only toilet cubicle to bath.

After everyone got exhausted, they went to our weekly must go- MACDONALDS! :D After the awesome dinner and bathe, they settled in for the night.

Highlight of the day:

Was Melvin Tan who got "violated" in the toilet. {note that the toilet cubicle door could not be locked}

ALSO, there were complains that Mr Tan was farming early in the morning. Bothering many people's sleep. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. {Farm= Farmville of Facebook}

17 October 2009 (Saturday)

Everyone woke up at about 9 and then went for some breakfast before the self-stretching. The first item on the list is PARTNER STUNTS! The final 16s were split into their own partners. Captain decided to give us a incentive! If all the 6 pairs can hit the stunt at the same time, we have an early lunch. The God of All Food, Mr Tam Zhao Xuan's eyes sparkled upon hearing that. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Epic man!

After the lunch together as a team, we had team bonding games. We were tested our coordination! Winner is the G force, Wu Gui Master, VICTOR! We tried out our group stunts and then basket tosses after the bonding game. We would like to thank Ms Agnes from ACES and a member from NTU hall 7. Thanks a lot for taking time off to help our girls with the basket toss and we were glad to be present to see your demo! Totally graceful and nice! :D

After the basket tosses, we had dinner! BBQ! We took some bites and went back to do our 1-1-1! The toilet cubicles was locked so our beloved captain brought us to Serangoon Swimming Complex to bath. Smart! :D We went to Prata House and Ice Cube for supper! Yum yum! THANKS MR YEO FOR THE BRILLANT IDEA!

18 October 2009 (Sunday)

Last day of camp already. Wah .. time passes real fast. We did our own stretching and then we did group stunts. We continued it for the entire morning. After lunch, we had a mass team messaging session. We formed a circle and we messaged one another. SHIOK! It was what all of us needed after a long day.

We continued with basket tosses and then did dance in the dance studio! Woohoo! :D Nice! The camp ended on a chirpy note ;D

After camp

Melvin T, Melvin S, me, BB, YQ, Harlis, Sharon, TeckPin stayed for dinner and bitching session! LOVE IT! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. More of these more often!

The name Denvers was conceived in memory of a close friend and supporter of the founders of team Denvers. Our name - Denvers in red, symbolizes our undying passion. White and black, the basic of all colors, stands for our emphasis on the foundations of cheerleading. The bright yellow boomerang is a metaphor of speed and the rebounding of strength. Undaunted by obstacles, Denvers shall always rebound, fight back and lead the way.

The new DENVERS training tee
this is our new denvers cheer tee which is wore during every Saturday training. this is designed by our finance secretary, Sharon. the color of the shirt matches our logo, it symbolises the burning passion each of our member have for cheerleading and the love for it as well.

the act of wearing the shirt each training aims to strike uniformity in the team. we hope to build up unifomity, unity, trust through simple and attainable gestures and actions.

We have changed our training structure. Our trainings are on:

• Wednesday: 7pm to 10pm (Junior training)
  
• Friday: 7pm to 10pm (Advanced training)
  
• Saturday: 1pm to 7pm (Entire team training)
